Located at the eastern end of the country, this region has headquarters at Dhankuta. The region includes two of the tallest peaks on earth, Kanchenjunga and Makalu and eastern route to the Everest. The foothills of this Himalayas offer some of the most exciting trekking in Nepal. Makalu Barun National Park which lies in this region is the only strict Nature Reserve in the country. The eastern part of Nepal is the most tempting and captivating as it displays nature's bounty at its best and also a wide diversity of cultures woven together as most of the ethnic groups are represented here.
