Kathmandu Valley comprises the three ancient cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, which were once independent states ruled by the Malla kings from the 12th to the 18th centuries. AM embark on an excursion to Pashupatinath, the temple of Lord Shiva is considered one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world. The two-tiered pagoda with golden roofs and silver doors houses the sacred linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva.
Later continue drive to the holiest shrine for the Buddhist culture in Nepal, Bouddhanath, is one of the most imposing landmarks in Kathmandu. It is not unusual to see very old devotees circumnavigate the shrine hundreds of times falling to their knees and rising again for a few steps only to go back down again to their knees. Continue drive to Bhaktapur, still untouched by rapid urbanisation and has managed to retain its brickpaved roads, charming red brick houses and a way of life that goes back to medieval times. Pottery and weaving are still traditional industries here. Architectural wonders abound, including the Palace of Fifty Five Windows, Golden Gate and the magnificent five storied pagoda-style Nyatapola Temple.

Later drive back to Kathmandu & overnight at the hotel

In the morning excursion to Patan. and is home to the valley's finest craftsmen who have preserved such ancient techniques as the repoussé and lost wax process used to produce exquisite sculptures. The city retains much of the old charm with its narrow streets, brick houses and multitude of well-preserved Hindu temples, Buddhist monasteries (vihars) and monuments. The Patan Durbar square is an enchanting mélange of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples – A UNESCO World Heritage site.

Later visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated in the heart of old Kathmandu city at Basantapur. Kathmandu Durbar Square never fails to impress first time visitors with its ensemble of palaces, courtyards and temples built during the Malla period. Also visit the Swayambhunath Stupa, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, resting on a hillock 3 km west of Kathmandu, it is one of the holiest Buddhist Chaityas in Nepal.

Morning drive to Pokhara. Its pristine air, spectacular backdrop of snowy peaks, serene lakes and surrounding greenery make it 'the jewel in the Himalaya', a place of remarkable natural beauty. With the magnificent Annapurna range forming the backdrop and the serenity of three major lakes – Phewa, Rupa and Begnas. Pokhara Valley, gateway to the Annapurna region where many a trekker finds his Shangri-la. On arrival check in at the hotel and rest of the day at leisure.

Pokhara Valley has in recent years grown as a destination for adventure sports such as paragliding and ultra-light aircraft flights. And with boating, bird watching, trekking and mountain biking. AM visit Davi's fall, Gupteshwor Cave & Tibetan Refugee Center. Rest of the day at leisure.

AM drive to Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site, which is home to 56 species of mammals that include one-horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal tiger, rhesus monkey, langur, deer, leopard, gaur, wild boar, wild dog and wild cat; 49 species of amphibians and reptiles that include the endangered long snouted gharial, marsh mugger crocodile and python. On arrival check in at the hotel. Later embark on a Elephant back safari through the park.
