About Bhopal

Bhopal is capital of Madhya Pradesh and was founded in 11th century by Raja Bhoj but the present city was established by Afghan soldier, Dost Mohammed (1707-1740) and his descendants build Bhopal into a beautiful city. By the 18th century, it was held by a Muslim dynasty whose rulers included several remarkable women, the Begums of Bhopal. The city enjoys a moderate climate and is built on seven hills and round three lakes. Many dynasties have left their mark on the city. The antediluvian remains of the forts built by the Rajputs, Afghans and the Moguls speak of the battles of the past period.
